Expressway Task to Expense Maharashtra, Gujarat Forest Land

Mumbai: The Surat-Chennai Expressway task has received environmental clearance, impacting forest land in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The Union Ministry’s professional advising board authorized the diversion at a meeting on March 5 th.

  • Maharashtra will lose 82 hectares of woodland land for the Nashik-Ahilyanagar stretch.
  • Gujarat’s stretch will certainly impact 340 hectares of forest land.
  • The NHAI job will cost 9, 494 crore in Maharashtra and 16, 198 crore in Gujarat.
  • Gujarat’s stretch requires more influence analyses as a result of its Western Ghats area.
