Mumbai Metro Expands with New Corridors
Mumbai’s City network grew Wednesday with the launch of commercial operations on parts of Lines 9 and 2 B, adhering to Tuesday’s inauguration.
- Line 9 (Phase 1: Links Dahisar East to Kashigaon with four stations.
- Line 2 B (Phase 1: Links Deshbhakt N G Acharya Udyan to Maharashtra Nagar– Mandale using 5 stations.
- Traveling Time Reduction: Line 9 is predicted to minimize Mira-Bhayandar to Mumbai travel time to 30 minutes.
- Network Growth: Mumbai currently has 6 operational Metro corridors.
- Frequency Improvements: Revised routines for Lines 2 A and 7 objective to improve commuter experience.
Line 9 offers the very first straight suburb-to-Thane connection, while Line 2 B provides Harbour Line city access.
