Manipur Observes Khongjom Day, Guv Calls for Unity
Thoubal, Manipur– Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla resolved residents during the yearly Khongjom Day events, urging them to promote stability, communal harmony, and regard for the regulation of legislation as a tribute to the state’s martyrs. The event took place at the Khongjom Battle Memorial. Key realities:
- Observed annually on April 23 rd, memorializing Manipuri heroes of the 1891 Anglo-Manipur Battle.
- Guv Bhalla and Chief Minister Khemchand Singh laid flower wreaths at the memorial and the sculpture of army leader Paona Brajabashi.
