India Aims for Semiconductor Self-Reliance In The Middle Of Global Chip Shortages

Bangalore– India is tactically establishing its semiconductor industry to mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities subjected during the COVID- 19 pandemic.

• India is a worldwide hub for chip design, housing 20 % of the globe’s semiconductor designers.
• India lacks domestic production abilities, depending on overseas manufacturing.
• The federal government is prioritizing “Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Examination (OSAT)” to develop a neighborhood ecological community.
• Kaynes Semicon, sustained by the Indian federal government, just recently released a $ 260 M chip setting up and testing manufacturing facility in Gujarat.
• The focus gets on generating chips for automotive, telecommunications, and protection industries.
