IAF to Acquire Advanced UAV System for Special Pressures
New Delhi– The Indian Flying Force (IAF) is initiating the purchase of a portable unmanned aerial car (UAV) system for its elite Unique Pressures, with the ability of operating in severe conditions up to 16, 400 feet.
- Objective: Improved high-altitude monitoring and operational assistance.
- Functions: Raised range and endurance; day/night surveillance; target acquisition; real-time situational awareness.
- Specs: Man-portable; two-person procedure; 15 km array; 60 -min endurance; GPS-denied setting operation; self-governing vertical liftoff and touchdown.
- Indigenous Focus: ‘Get Indian’ purchase with a minimum 60 % indigenous material to increase domestic support manufacturing and straighten with “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
