New Delhi– Federal Government Notifies Central Armed Authorities Forces Act, 2026
The Indian government has formally passed the Central Armed Cops Forces (CAPF) Act, 2026, following presidential approval. This “umbrella regulation” aims to simplify regulations for the CAPF.
- Purpose: To control employment, deputation, promotion, and service conditions for CAPF policemans.
- Deputation: Mandates filling up 50 % of Examiner General blog posts and 67 % of Additional Supervisor General messages by means of Indian Cops Service (IPS) deputation. Supervisor General and Unique Director General functions will be filled up entirely with deputation.
- History: This legislation complies with a High court regulation to decrease IPS policeman deputation within the CAPF.
