Guwahati: A political row erupted in Assam as Congress affirmed Principal Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s spouse, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, holds numerous foreign passports and concealed overseas assets.
- Congress leader Pawan Khera claimed Ms. Sharma possesses keys from the UAE, Antigua and Barbuda, and Egypt.
- BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi disregarded the cases as “fabricated,” mentioning inconsistencies in the here and now papers.
- CM Sarma vehemently refuted the accusations, calling them “malicious” and “politically inspired lies.”
- Both Sarma and his other half plan to submit character assassination fits against Khera within 48 hours.
