After years of concealing her trouble, previous football celebrity Ashlyn Harris is obtaining honest regarding the medication dependency she fought in her young people.
While playing football at the University of North Carolina, Harris confessed she transformed to amphetamines while taking care of duplicated sporting activities injuries.
“I was getting really heavily addicted to Adderall and misusing it,” Harris exposed on the March 21 episode of the Question Everything with Danielle Robay podcast, perE News “I was taking it all the time. I would go days without sleeping. It was wild. I felt like I was gonna give myself a heart attack. I was crushing it. I was snorting it. It was so problematic.”
The famous lesbian football celebrity stated that a “toxic” body photo had something to do with her ongoing misuse of the medicine also.
“Then I was like, ‘Oh, it makes me skinny. It curbs my appetite.’ It was just a toxic, toxic time for me because it was the first time that I started to have my character tested because I started to get injured,” the 39-year-old retired professional athlete discussed.
Harris, that invested component of 2023 and 2024 in the headings amidst dishonesty reports bordering her partnership with One Tree Hill starlet Sophia Bush, stated that her dependency trouble was taking place while she was recuperating from ACL and labrum injuries, yet her university football train Anson Dorrance was extremely helpful.
“It got really, really dark and I had to make some serious adjustments,” she discussed, “and Anson would have me read books.”

Harris claims she’s attempting not to pass along her problems to her 2 youngsters (Sloane, 4, and Ocean, 2) that she shows to ex-wife and previous football pro Ali Krieger.
“I have a lot of trauma in my life and I have a lot of scars. I do not want to project and place that on my children,” she trusted. “When you become a mom and you’re molding young humans, your perspective in life changes. You have to get your s–t together because they see and hear everything.”
Now the two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup champion is concentrated on being the very best good example she can be for her youngsters.
“I just want to give my kids the best tools to be whoever they want to be,” Harris discussed. “But at the core of them, they need to be good people. They have to be good people. How they serve their community, how they show up for their friends, that matters.”
