A New York City male presumably took his SUV on a drunk drive along train tracks that finished with the lorry igniting, cops claimed.
Basilio Hidalgo, 40, was apprehended and billed after he drove an SUV onto the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and triggered an intense scene after the lorry’s tires ignited at around 4:52 p.m. Sunday, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department claimedin a release
Photos of the collision results revealed Hidalgo’s SUV being raised with a crane from the train tracks.

The MTAPD claimed Hidalgo drove around “half a mile east” on the tracks prior to quiting after 2 tires of the lorry ended up being “severely damaged” and stired up.
“Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Department officers observed a black Honda sport utility vehicle stopped on the Main Line tracks of the LIRR between Bellerose and Floral Park Stations,” MTAPD claimed.
“Detectives determined the alleged suspect drove onto the LIRR Main Line tracks from grade level, west of the Elmont-UBS Arena station.”
The vehicle driver ultimately quit “just east of the Bellerose Station” as the fire began.
In a viral video of the case, the SUV is seen bending throughout the tracks.

The case triggered “significant damage to the third rail and other track infrastructure,” cops claimed.

Hidalgo was billed with first-degree negligent endangerment, third-degree criminal trespassing and driving while intoxicated.
