School area states no to art work presenting Ten Commandments, Constitution


The Iredell-Statesville School District chose Monday evening versus placing the united state Constitution, and the Ten Commandments, and the Bill of Rights on screen on universities.

A board participant stated he dealt with a developer to develop the poster in hopes of sharing it in institution.

However, the concept really did not make it outdoors Monday evening’s board conference.

Board participant Brian Sloan stated he initially offered it at a previous board conference.

He stated he intended to enhance the clearness of the Constitution and obscure the message of the Ten Commandments.

However, Board Member Doug Knight stated the screens in institutions would certainly damage government regulation and expense countless bucks to safeguard in court.

“I don’t want to lose that money that we could use for our nurses, counselors, teachers, for teachers’ aides that make a big difference,” Knight stated.

“What I was planning on doing was making the Ten Commandments less legible so they would be the same,” Sloan stated. “I don’t think I’ll ever make anybody happy.”

Board participants obliterated making any type of style modifications in a 4-3 ballot, so there will not be anymore conversations concerning it.
