Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was hospitalized after being harmed while taking a trip with a legislative delegation in Luxembourg, her workplace claimed Friday.
Pelosi, 84, “sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation,” her representative Ian Krager claimed in a press release.
The Democratic audio speaker emerita and existing united state agent from California “is currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals,” Krager claimed.
“She continues to work and regrets that she is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements,” he claimed.
The representative did not instantly react to’s ask for added information regarding the case.
The bipartisan delegation was slated to take a trip to Belgium and Luxembourg to memorialize the 80th wedding anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, when German and Allied pressures clashed in the Ardennes area throughout World War II.
The united state legislators were positioned to participate in regards of the wedding anniversary on Friday and Saturday “along with veterans and their families, active duty servicemembers, government and military officials and foreign dignitaries,” Pelosi’s office claimed in advance of the journey.
Krager claimed in Friday’s declaration that Pelosi “conveys her thanks and praise to our veterans and gratitude to people of Luxembourg and Bastogne for their service in World War II and their role in bringing peace to Europe.”
“Speaker Emerita Pelosi was personally and officially honored to travel with the distinguished delegation, many of whom had family members who fought in World War II — including her uncle, Johnny. She looks forward to returning home to the U.S. soon,” the representative claimed.
The delegation consisted of 18 lawmakers and was being led by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, R-Texas McCaul’s workplace did not instantly react to an ask for remark.
