Welsh Tory to give up at following Senedd survey because of basic political election wagering costs|Wales

Russell George, the Conservative participant for Montgomeryshire, claimed he was withdrawing his candidateship to stand in following year’s political election to concentrate on removing his name.

“In the circumstances, I feel I have no alternative but to withdraw my candidacy for next year’s Senedd elections so that I can focus on fighting to clear my name.

“I will of course continue to serve the people of Montgomeryshire to the very best of my ability.

“I am grateful for the many messages of support that I have received in recent days, particularly from constituents.”

Among others dealing with costs are Craig Williams, the previous MP for Montgomeryshire, Nick Mason, a previous principal information policeman for the event, Laura Saunders, the Conservative prospect for Bristol North West last July, and Tony Lee, the Conservatives’ projects supervisor, that is wed to Saunders.

Current Tory personnel dealing with costs are being “suspended with immediate effect”, the event claimed recently.
