Barcelona train Hansi Flick contacted his young side to ‘delight in’ battling competitors Real Madrid in Saturday’s Copa del Rey last in Seville.
The Catalans are wanting to land a prospective quadruple this period, with the Copa their following target after winning the Spanish Super Cup in January versus Real Madrid.
In both Clasicos this period Barca thrived 4-0 in La Liga last October and afterwards 5-2 in the last in Saudi Arabia, however Flick claimed his group are not always favourites.
“We have to enjoy it, we have a really young team — this is a great experience, playing this final, against one of the best teams in the world,” Flick informed a press conference Friday.
“A final is different, it’s not about favourites.
“We wish to begin the suit tomorrow and we wish to defend this title.”
Los Blancos have struggled this season, knocked out of the Champions League by Arsenal in the quarter-finals, and are four points behind Barca at the top of La Liga.
Flick’s exciting side are led by dynamic winger Lamine Yamal, only 17, and boast several young players including Pau Cubarsi, Gavi and Pedri.
“I’m shocked by exactly how amazing their mindset is,” said Barcelona captain Ronald Araujo.
“It’s as if we are not playing a last tomorrow, they are so tranquil … these youngsters from La Masia, it marvels me a whole lot.
“Not just Cubarsi, Lamine, Fermin (Lopez), also (Hector) Fort, everyone… they’re incredible. The guys from La Masia are amazing, they have no fear.”
