Mark Kennedy applauded the persistence of Doncaster Rovers with their employer Grant McCann following their late play-off rise last period.
The South Yorkshire side were having a hard time in League Two for an extended period in 2015, remaining in the lower 4 for most of the period prior to they created an unforeseen run which took them completely to the play-offs.
Their run was at some point finished by Lee Bell’s Crewe Alexandra that defeated them 4-3 on charges to get to the last versus Crawley Town.
The Swindon employer made use of Doncaster’s run as a fine example of persistence and club’s providing time for a supervisor to construct something, in spite of very early battles.
“I think Doncaster are very good. They’ve got an outstanding manager, a really good team and a really good squad.
“In February last year, I think they were in the bottom four. I think if you allow somebody to build something or at least you can see they’re building something and you can evidence it, I think Grant is a brilliant example of what you can achieve and what you can do, and that’s exactly what I see with us.
“I’m super confident about what we’re doing but life’s not as easy or as straightforward as that, so it’s about getting results but I’ve seen too much from the team this year, even from today’s performance that can evidence the direction we’re going in.
“So that’s very pleasing but I’m bitterly disappointed there’s nothing to show at the end of it.”
Despite shedding the video game in discouraging style, having fun Rovers when they did was a favorable for the Robins employer.
Kennedy shared the self-confidence in his side, specifying he has no worries regarding dealing with any type of group in the department, no matter their organization setting.
“I was really pleased coming into the game, I was pleased with playing Doncaster because I thought well, they’re gonna come and have a go at us, they’re gonna try and win the game.
“It’s when teams come and sit and defend for their lives is what’s caused us some problems.
“I was really pleased that we were playing Doncaster today and I thought it was a good game of football.
“I’ve got no worries or concerns of playing anybody in this league, none whatsoever, and I think we’ve proven that time and time again.
“Even in a defeat, the big thing is that we have to turn performances into results. Its’s a results driven business and that’s what matters at the end of the day.”
