President- choose Donald Trump called Alina Habba, among his defense lawyer, as a therapist to the head of state on Sunday.
“Alina has been a tireless advocate for Justice, a fierce Defender of the Rule of Law, and an invaluable Advisor to my Campaign and Transition Team,” Trump wrote onTruth Social “She has been unwavering in her loyalty, and unmatched in her resolve — standing with me through numerous ‘trials,’ battles, and countless days in Court.”
“Few understand the Weaponization of the ‘Injustice’ System better than Alina, who has fought relentlessly against the full force of Lawfare with courage and an unshakable commitment to Justice.”
In his first term, the counselor role was held by longtime GOP strategist Kellyanne Conway.
Habba represented Trump in the defamation and civil rape lawsuits filed by the writer E. Jean Carroll. Carroll won both cases after juries found Trump liable for sexual abuse in one and guilty of defamation in another. Judgements in both matters were nearly $100 million, but Trump is appealing them.
On the campaign trail, Habba served as a fierce surrogate for Trump’s White House bid. She said Sunday it was the “honor of my life” to offer the president-elect and the American individuals.
