President Donald Trump discharged 2 Democratic participants of the Federal Trade Commission on Tuesday, performing one more legitimately suspicious power grab at an independent government firm.
Commissioner Alvaro Bedoya said on X that Trump had âillegallyâ eliminated him from the antitrust enforcement firm in the center of his term, calling the step âcorruption plain and simple.â
â[T]he president wants the FTC to be a lapdog for his golfing buddies,â claimed Bedoya, that did not right away call back looking for remark.
Rebecca Kelly Slaughter, one more Democratic commissioner, claimed in a declaration that she had actually been discharged âillegallyâ too. âWhy? Because I have a voice. And he is afraid of what Iâll tell the American people,â Slaughter claimed ofTrump
