AOC Shreds Chuck Schumer For ‘Profoundly Misreading The Moment’

Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) torn Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Thursday after he said he’d vote to progress a GOP-backed financing costs, deserting his plans to filibuster the regulations in an action that will likely prevent a federal government closure.

“I believe that’s a tremendous mistake,” Ocasio-Cortez informed CNN‘s Jake Tapper, that inquired about Schumer’s brand-new strategy and why she believes it’s “wrong” to permit an easy bulk ballot.

Ocasio-Cortez pushed that Americans are “up in arms” over Elon Musk, including that the proceeding resolution orders the billionaire’s disorderly cuts.

She explained the regulations as an “extreme spending bill” that “sacrifices and completely eliminates congressional authority.”

“This turns the federal government into a slush fund for Donald Trump and Elon Musk,” she claimed of the “deeply partisan” regulations.

“And so to me, it is almost unthinkable why Senate Democrats would vote to hand the few pieces of leverage that we have away for free when we’ve been sent here to protect Social Security, protect Medicaid, and protect Medicare.”

Ocasio-Cortez was amongst a variety of participants of her celebration– moderates and progressives alike– who blasted Schumer over the relocate to back the costs, which almost one House Democrat elected versus when it handed down Tuesday.

Schumer, in a speech on the Senate flooring, claimed Trump and Musk would certainly have “carte blanche to destroy vital government services” under a closure as he suggested for exterior siding with a “very bad” proceeding resolution rather before Friday’s financing due date.

Schumer was called out by MSNBC‘s Chris Hayes later on in the day after he concurred with the host, that described an “unconstitutional assault on the government right now.”

“There is, these guys are the worst and we’ve got to fight them every step of the way —,” claimed Schumer as Hayes jeered.

“But they’re saying you’re not fighting,” Hayes inserted.

The congresswoman, in remarks to press reporters, indicated House Democrats that won Trump- held areas and “walked the plank” to safeguard Americans just to see Senate Democrats “even consider acquiescing” to Musk.

She later declared on her X account that “virtually every” House Democrat from a Trump- won area belonged to the “new ‘left.’”

Ocasio-Cortez, in a post to her BlueSky account, examined Senate Democrats that “convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to ‘the left’ and therefore ignorable.”

“Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes,” she created.
