(Reuters) – A government court in Texas on Friday denied a demand by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to raise an order that obstructed a brand-new policy covering charge card late charges at $8, a plan tested by service and financial teams.
UNITED STATE District Judge Mark Pittman in Fort Worth decreased to liquify an order he provided in May that disallowed the policy from working. That policy was provided as component of the Biden management’s more comprehensive suppression on “junk fees.”
The CFPB had actually asked the court to review the order, claiming it relaxed completely on a charms court’s now-overturned judgment proclaiming the company’s financing framework unconstitutional. But Pittman claimed the policy can still be obstructed on various other premises.
