Pride Flag Goes Back To Stonewall After Elimination
NEW YORK — A big Pride flag was re-hoisted over the Stonewall National Monument Thursday by New York officials, following its removal earlier in the week. The act is viewed as a response to the Trump administration and triggered hundreds to gather in Lower Manhattan.
- Stonewall is considered the native home of the modern united state gay rights motion.
- The flag’s initial elimination was viewed by some as an “act of physical violence” versus the LGBT neighborhood.
- The Division of Interior declined to comment on possible further elimination.
- The DOI representative called the return a “political feat.”
Manhattan Borough Head of state Brad Hoylman-Sigal led the ceremony.
