Mankhurd Institution Redevelopment Delayed by Defence Objections
Mumbai’s Brihanmumbai Municipal Company (BMC) faces more delays in reconstructing a civic college in Mankhurd after its initial multi-storey structure plan was turned down by defence authorities. This marks the second such circumstances after Colaba, where closeness to protection installments prevents school building and construction.
- The original school, dealing with 450 pupils, was destroyed in 2021 as a result of dilapidation.
- The proposed site sits opposite a defence setup.
- The defence ministry cited 2011 and 2015 standards restricting multi-story building and construction near support establishments.
