The Supreme Court of India on Thursday set up to listen to requests connected to the 1991 legislation on churches. The legislation forbids the conversion of any kind of church, making certain that the spiritual personality of such websites continues to be as it got on August 15, 1947.
A three-judge bench of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Justices Sanjay Kumar and K.V. Viswanathan listened to the issue.
During today’s process, the Supreme Court asked the Centre to respond to cross-pleas testing or looking for the execution of the law.
“Application for impleadment stands allowed. Union has not filed a counter, let the counter filed within four weeks. Respondents to do the same. Copy of counter to be served on petitioners. Petitioner shall file rejoinder within 4 weeks after counter,” CJI Sanjiv Khanna claimed.
