Sri Lanka’s brand-new President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Monday stated that he shares Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to enhancing reciprocal connections.
Dissanayake stated this in an article on X in feedback to Prime Minister Modi’s blog post on Sunday in which he praised the Marxist leader for his triumph in Sri Lanka’s governmental political election.
“Thank you, Prime Minister Modi, for your kind words and support. I share your commitment to strengthening the ties between our nations. Together, we can work towards enhancing cooperation for the benefit of our peoples and the entire region,” Dissanayake stated.
Dissanayake was vouched in as Sri Lanka’s brand-new head of state on Monday after his triumph in Saturday’s political election.
Dissanayake, 56, the leader of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna event’s more comprehensive front National People’s Power (NPP), beat his closest opponent Sajith Premadasa of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB).
