Kolkata: Police on Tuesday lathicharged, secondhand water cannons and tear gas to distribute agitators at Howrah Bridge’s Kolkata end and near Santragachhi Railway terminal on Kona Expressway as activists tried to appear cops barriers in an initiative to get to the state secretariat, Nabanna.
At Santragachhi, agitators tossed blocks at cops, harming a number of policemans, while activists declared that cops activity likewise hurt a number of trainees.
The activists were trying to get to the state secretariat to require the elimination of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the rape-murder of a medical professional at RG Kar Medical College.
Police stated they started lathicharging and tear gassing after the agitators took care of to breach the barriers at some areas and struck the safety employees.
