Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani revealed sorrow over the diing of his “dear friend” Ratan Tata, calling his fatality “a big loss, not just to the Tata Group, but to every Indian.”
Industrialist and the chairman emeritus of the Tata Group, Ratan Tata, passed away on Wednesday (October 9) night in Mumbai after a long illness.
Ratan Tata’s passing away was confirmed by Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran.
‘Lost a dear friend’
Ambani, in a grief post, said: “At a personal level, the passing of Ratan Tata has filled me with immense grief as I lost a dear friend.”
< period design=" font-weight:400">“Each of my numerous interactions with him left me inspired and energised and enhanced my respect for the nobility of his character and the fine human values he embodied,” he said.
“It is a very sad day for India and India Inc. Ratan Tata’s passing away is a big loss, not just to the Tata Group, but to every Indian,” Ambani said.
India lost one of most illustrious & kind-hearted sons
The Reliance Industries Chairman further said that Ratan Tata was a visionary industrialist and a philanthropist, who always strove for society’s greater good.
“With the demise of Mr Ratan Tata, India has lost one of her most illustrious and kind-hearted sons,” Ambani said.
Ratan Tata brought best of world to Bharat
“Mr Tata took India to the world and brought the best of the world to Bharat,” Mukesh Ambani said.
“He institutionalised the House of Tata and made it an international enterprise growing the Tata group over 70 times since the time he took over as Chairman in 1991,” he further said.
“Ratan, you will always remain in my heart,” Ambani said as he expressed condolences to the bereaved members of the Tata family and the entire Tata Group on behalf of Reliance, Nita and the Ambani family.

Ratan Tata’s death has sent waves of grief across the country. He was a visionary industrialist, a dutiful citizen, a philanthropist who was known for his gentle mannerism.
Born in 1937, Ratan Tata signed up with the Tata Group in 1962 and became its chairman in 1991. He held the function till his retired life in 2012. Until October 9, 2024, Tata remained to affect the team as Chairman Emeritus.
