Roy was held guilty under Sections 64 (rape), 66 (penalty for triggering fatality), and 103( 1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

“I haven’t done anything; I have been framed. They didn’t let me speak, tortured me, and forced me to sign many documents,” Roy claimed.
