A day after the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in New York asserted that India’s “unfounded allegations against the Islamic Republic of Pakistan” were sustaining stress in between New Delhi and Islamabad, the Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday turned down the declaration as “absurd” and charged Pakistan of controling and misleading the OIC participant states.
The MEA claimed the OIC declaration, which shows up to concern India’s story on April 22 Pahalgam horror strike that asserted 26 lives, has actually been provided at the wish of Pakistan.

“The OIC declaration, provided at the wish of Pakistan, is unreasonable in declining to acknowledge the truths of the Pahalgam terrorist strike and its cross-border links. This is yet one more effort by Pakistan, a nation that has actually long participated in cross-border terrorism, to control and misinform the OIC Group to provide an egotistical declaration. We deny the OIC’s disturbance in issues that are interior to India,” the MEA said in a statement.
On Monday, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in New York issued a statement expressing “deep concern over the worsening security situation in South Asia.”
As reported by Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency, a member of the OIC since its inception, the statement attributed escalating tensions between India and Pakistan to India’s “unfounded allegations against the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”
The OIC further said that India’s accusations could exacerbate an already volatile situation, reaffirming its “principled position against, and condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, committed by whomsoever and wherever.”
The group also rejected “all attempts to associate any country, race, religion, culture or nationality with terrorism.”
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people, mostly tourists.
In response to the attack, India has taken decisive actions against Pakistan for its role in cross-border terrorism.
India has decided to suspend the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty until Pakistan permanently and credibly ceases its support for cross-border terrorism.
