Bihar govt can not offer cost-free electrical energy to power customers: Energy Minister


Patna: The Bihar federal government made it clear it will certainly not offer cost-free electrical energy to power customers.

For giving subsidy to power consumers, the state government has sanctioned Rs 13,114 crore in 2023-24, which has now gone up to Rs 15,343 crore in the current fiscal,” he stated.

His action came when reporters sought his response on the RJD’s pledge of giving 200 systems of cost-free electrical energy if elected to power.

On the setup of clever pre-paid electrical meters in the state, the preacher stated, “Around 50 lakh smart prepaid electric meters have already been installed in the state and the process will be completed by 2025.”
