Yas Island, Abu Dhabi: Breaking his silence concerning the online reaction he encountered following his remarks concerning Telugu celebrity Prabhas resembling a “joker” in Kalki 2898 ADVERTISEMENT, star Arshad Warsi on Saturday claimed his statements had to do with the personality and not the individual.
At the IIFA Awards 2024 eco-friendly rug, Arshad called Prabhas a “brilliant actor”, including individuals today like to analyze sound.
“Everybody has their own point of view and people like to interpret noise. I spoke about the character, not the person.”
“He is a brilliant actor and he has proved himself again and again, and we know about it. And, when we give a bad character to a good actor, it’s heartbreaking for the audience,” Arshad informed PTI below.
Last month in an episode of the Unfiltered by Samdish podcast, the Munna Bhai celebrity was asked to call the last poor movie he enjoyed and he claimed it was Kalki 2898 ADVERTISEMENT, the 3D sci-fi phenomenon routed by Nag Ashwin.
While Arshad was all appreciation concerning megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s efficiency in the frying pan-India flick, he claimed he was unfortunate that Prabhas resembled “a joker” in the smash hit flick, a remark that really did not drop well with followers along with the Telugu movie society, consisting of stars Nani, Sudheer Babu and supervisor Ajay Bhupathi.
Later, Ashwin also responded to the row, stating Arshad might have “chosen his words better but it’s ok”.
At the eco-friendly rug, Arshad claimed he enjoys that markets of various languages are integrating to make films.
“The blurring of language barriers should have happened a long time ago. I really feel enraged when someone uses terms like Bollywood or Tollywood. I have corrected many people many times, I told them this is the Indian film industry.
“We all remain in it with each other. My competitors is with the remainder of the globe, it’s not with each various other … Like when I route a movie someday, I’d like to cast everyone, regardless of where (market) they originate from. Language is of no consequence,” he added.
Asked to share an update about Munna Bhai 3, the actor teased ” there are talks, it might take place”.
