A 50-year-old Geography professor accused of sexually exploiting his college students was arrested late Wednesday evening in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Rajneesh Kumar had been absconding for 72 hours earlier than police apprehended him whereas he was making an attempt to safe anticipatory bail.

SP Chiranjeev Nath Sinha acknowledged that the investigation started after the police obtained an nameless letter detailing Kumar’s alleged misconduct. Modus Operandi And Blackmail

Probe revealed that Kumar first sexually exploited a fourth-class feminine workers member in 2019. He later focused seven to eight feminine college students, blackmailing them with the secretly recorded movies.
He as soon as engaged in a bodily relationship with a girl at his residence, which was inadvertently recorded on his laptop’s webcam. This incident allegedly led him to plan a scientific methodology of exploiting college students by means of secret recordings, Police sources instructed PTI.
Kumar usually lured college students by promising them larger marks, educational promotions, and job placements. “He usually gifted them costly gadgets and cash to achieve their belief. Once he developed an in depth rapport, he sexually exploited them in his workplace chamber and secretly recorded their intimate moments. Victims remained unaware of the recordings till they had been later used for blackmail. Even after the scholars graduated, he allegedly continued to threaten and exploit them,” SP Sinha added.
Kumar joined Bagla College as a lecturer in 2001 and have become the Head of the Geography Department in 2016. He was appointed as the school’s Chief Proctor in July 2024.
