Madhubani: Two US nationals, together with a lady, have been arrested in Bihar’s Madhubani district once they have been allegedly attempting to cross over to Nepal with out legitimate journey paperwork, police stated.
The arrested US nationals are residents of California, a senior officer stated on Sunday.
The police additionally arrested two locals who offered them with logistical help throughout their keep in Jainagar space close to the India-Nepal border.
According to the police, safety personnel of the forty eighth battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) intercepted the 2 Americans close to the Betaunha border outpost below the jurisdiction of the Jainagar police station whereas they have been leaving India for Nepal on Saturday afternoon.
“They were held by the SSB personnel as they were trying to cross over to Nepal without valid travel documents. The arrested US nationals are a couple. The woman, born in Nepal, married to the man and gained US citizenship. Both were jointly interrogated by the police, SSB and officials of other agencies concerned,” Jainagar Deputy SP Ankur Kumar informed PTI.
“The police registered a case and arrested both US nationals. Two locals were also apprehended for providing them with logistical support,” he stated.
The matter is being additional investigated, the deputy SP added.
