16-year-old woman gang-raped in Tripura, 2 detained


Agartala: A 16-year-old woman, was apparently abducted, gang-raped and disposed right into a forest by 2 individuals in North Tripura area, cops stated on Friday.

The target is undertaking therapy at Dharmanagar area medical facility as she endured several injuries.

Police detained 2 individuals for their affirmed participation in the gang rape that took place on Thursday.

“The girl was walking on a village road on Thursday afternoon. Suddenly, two persons riding a bike kidnapped the girl and took her to a nearby jungle and gang-raped her,” the Superintendent of Police (SP), North Tripura, Bhanupada Chakraborty stated on Friday.

After devoting the criminal activity, they deserted the woman and got away, the SP stated.

Locals later on detected the woman, in a subconscious state, and notified her family members regarding the occurrence.

“After being alerted by the villagers, we rushed to the spot and rescued my sister, and took her to the Uptakhali health facility. She was referred to Dharmanagar district hospital from there. Her condition was serious,” the target’s senior sis informed the press reporters.

The individuals that raped my sis tossed her in the forest thinking that she passed away, he stated.

“We have taken the case seriously. Two persons have already been arrested and will be forwarded before the court today seeking police remand. A team has been constituted for proper investigation of the case. We will try our level best to ensure stringent punishment for those involved in the heinous crime,” the SP stated.

Chakraborty stated he has actually currently spoken with the target at the wellness center and she is currently unharmed.
