Jheel Mehta, best understood for representing Sonu, the little girl of Aatmaram Bhide and Madhvi Bhide, in the hit comedy Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, just recently shared a deeply individual experience from her time on the program. In an open discussion, the starlet disclosed that she when examined her choice to be component of the prominent collection, confessing, “Main soch rahi thi major ye serial kyu kar rahi hu.”
Speaking to Siddhesh Lokare on his podcast, Jheel, who was a part of the show from its inception in 2018 to 2012, talked about the particular episode that left a lasting impact on her. She said, “Wo jo Tapu ki shaadi ka episode tha wo mere liye kaafi traumatizing tha. Main soch rahi thi main ye serial kyu kar rahi hu. Child marriage ho raha hai isme. (The episode featuring Tapu’s marriage was very traumatizing for me. I wondered why I was doing this show, they are showing child marriage.)”
She included, “I am unsure what I was considering. When I saw the program, I understood it was a desire series. I was examining my life choices. It was odd amusing, and insane in my head.”
Jheel Mehta was replaced by Nidhi Bhanushali, who took on the role of Sonu Bhide from 2012 to 2019. Following Nidhi, Palak Sindhwani portrayed the character from 2019 to 2024. Currently, Khushi Mali is playing Sonu Bhide in the ongoing episodes of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which airs on Sab TV.
Apart from Jheel, several other actors who also left the show include Disha Vakani, Bhavya Gandhi, Gurucharan Singh, Shailesh Lodha, Neha Mehta, Raj Anadkat, Jennifer Mistry and Kush Shah.
The actress has still not returned to the television screens after she quit the popular sitcom. She currently works as a makeup artist and also co-owns a business with her mother.
The starlet just recently celebrated a marriage with her long time partner Aditya Dube on December 28, 2024, in a grand wedding.
