As per reports, Producer KE Gnanavel Raja, on behalf of Studio Green, had taken a loan of about Rs 99.22 crore from Reliance for the production of films including Teddy-2, X Meets Y, and Thangalaan. Reportedly, the producer has been able to repay only Rs 45 crore and has allegedly failed to repay the remaining amount, thus, breaching the terms of the contract. As a result, Reliance has filed a case at the Madras High Court requesting the staying of the release of Kanguva and Thangalaan on OTT platforms.
As of now, both these films will not be released on any OTT platform. The judge has also postponed the hearing of the case to November 7.
