RPF Seizes Gold, Silver, Cash Worth Rs 4.01 Crore From Trains At New Delhi Railway Station|Railways News


BRAND-NEW DELHI: The Railway Protection Force confiscated significant amounts of gold bars, silver and over Rs 85 lakh of unaccounted money from 4 trains at New Delhi Railway Station, a press declaration from the Railway Ministry stated onFriday Acting on a suggestion, the ministry recuperated items worth Rs 4.01 crore from the trains on September 4, the declaration stated.

“The RPF Team was on high alert as they inspected several incoming trains. While searching the coaches, they uncovered 24 suspicious packages from four different trains, the Ministry said. “What originally seemed regular parcels, ended up to consist of a shocking haul: 498 grams of gold bars, 365 kilos of silver, and 85.72 lakhs in unaccounted money,” it stated.

The Ministry mentioned that the RPF group, operating in cooperation with the Income Tax Department, very carefully recorded and safeguarded the products for additional examination. It noted the procedure as a significant success in suppressing unlawful tasks on the trains during Assembly Elections inHaryana “This operation was just one of the broader efforts of the RPF to secure the Assembly Elections in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir, which took place between August 16 and October 5,” journalism note stated.

“With 60 companies of the Force deployed across the two states, the RPF played a critical role in ensuring peace and safety during the election period,” it included. Appreciating RPF’s initiatives, the Ministry stated that the caution of RPF throughout the political election duration caused the interception of unlawful items worth 12.86 crores and assisted in implementing the Model Code of Conduct in the lately wrapped up political elections in Haryana and Jammu & &Kashmir . .

“Seizures included narcotics, smuggled liquor, unaccounted cash, and the items that could potentially be used to influence the voters,” journalism note stated. It included, “These efforts of the RPF were instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the elections and demonstrated the RPF’s commitment to ensuring the smooth functioning of the electoral process and curbing illicit activities that could have influenced the outcomes.”
