Earlier on Tuesday, the Uttarakhand government announced to increase in the dearness allowance of its employees from 50 per cent to 53 per cent. According to the official release, all regular, full-time, and UGC-affiliated officers of the state government will get the increased allowance from July 1, 2024.
The release said that the arrears of dearness allowance from July 1 to September 30 will be paid in cash, while the allowance will be added to the salary from October 1. Last year, the Punjab government announced a 4 per cent hike in dearness allowance for state government employees, with effect from December 1, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on Monday. With the latest hike, the DA will increase to 38 per cent, Punjab State Ministerial Services Union (PSMSU) President Amrik Singh said.
A decision in this regard was taken following a meeting with the representatives of the PSMSU here. During the meeting, Mann discussed various demands of the employees.

The employees had been demanding implementation of the old pension scheme, release of pending 12 per cent DA and regularisation of contractual employees.
