New Delhi: Food Corporation of India (FCI) and state businesses have procured 120.67 lakh metric tonne (LMT) paddy in Punjab throughout the ongoing kharif advertising season (KMS) 2024-2025 (as of November 8) value Rs 27,995 crore, the federal government mentioned on Saturday.
A complete amount of 126.67 LMT of paddy arrived within the Punjab mandis as of November 8, out of which 120.67 LMT has been procured by state businesses and the FCI.
The paddy is being bought at MSP Rs 2,320 per quintal as determined by authorities for Grade ‘A’ paddy and the full paddy bought by until date within the ongoing KMS 2024-25, quantities to Rs 27,995 crore benefitting round 6.58 lakh farmers in Punjab.
According to the federal government, 4,839 millers have utilized for shelling of paddy and 4,743 millers have already been allotted work by Punjab state authorities.
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution mentioned that the procurement of Paddy for KMS 2024-25 has commenced in Punjab from October 1 2024 and a pair of,927 designated mandis and short-term yards are operational all through the state for clean procurement from the farmers of Punjab.
Central Government has mounted an estimated goal of 185 LMT for paddy procurement for the continued KMS 2024-25 which might proceed as much as November 30.
