B.C.’s cops oversight company is exploring after a thought carjacker was fired by cops in East Vancouver very early Sunday early morning.
Vancouver cops claim they were called out around 4 a.m. to the location of Prior and Milross roads when a guard called 911 to report a guy equipped with a blade and damaged glass container swiping his automobile.
Police claim the supposed carjacker got away in the taken lorry and made it to the junction of Slocan Street and East 23rd Avenue prior to policemans overtook him, around half an hour later on.
There, cops claim the male was fired while they were taking him right into wardship. He was required to medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries to his arm.
No policemans were hurt.
Vancouver Police Department (VPD) speakerSgt Steve Addison stated the male is encountering possible burglary, tool property and driving costs.
“The police-involved shooting occurred as the officers were taking the driver, who was considered armed and dangerous, into custody,” Addison stated in a declaration.
The district’s cops oversight company, the Independent Investigations Office (IIO), stated in a declaration that it is exploring the capturing.
The civilian-led IIO explores all police-involved events causing major injury or fatality, no matter whether there are claims of misbehavior.
The company stated the taken automobile was a black BMW car, which it was ultimately dropped in squad car prior to the capturing took place.
