Trio of groups continue to be unbeaten at Canadian Mixed Curling Championship


Teams from Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and Quebec continue to be unbeaten after 5 attracts at the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship.

Don Bowser’s Quebec group, with 3rd Brenda Nicholls, 2nd Dan deWaard and lead Pamela Nugent, lead the seven-team Pool B with a 3-0 document.

Jason Ackerman’s team from Regina’s Highland Curling Club– with 3rd Amber Holland, 2nd Sam Wills and lead Colleen Ackerman– and Owen Purcell’s group from Halifax Curling Club– with 3rd Christina Black, 2nd Adam McEachren and lead Jennifer Baxter– share the lead in the seven-team Pool A with 3-0 documents.

On Monday, Bowser beat Kurt Balderston’s Alberta team 8-3. Ackerman bordered Robert Smallwood’s Yukon group 6-5 in the mid-day draw and after that defeat Dylan Johnston’s Northern Ontario team 5-2 at night draw.

Purcell bordered Trent Skanes Newfoundland and Labrador group 5-4 in his group’s only video game on Monday.
