Illegal subletting, international employees located at Subang Jaya’s Ramadan markets

THE hiring of international employees as delay aides and subletting of stalls to immigrants were amongst the offenses located throughout a joint raid by Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) and the Immigration Department.

The joint raids were performed at a number of Ramadan bazaar places under MBSJ’s province, to make sure conformity with license policies established by the common council for Ramadan market investors.

“During the inspections, the enforcement officers came across foreign nationals engaged in business activities apart from several other violations of MBSJ’s licensing conditions, such as building structures that obstructed public spaces,” the neighborhood council’s Corporate and Strategic Management Department claimed in a media declaration.

” MBSJ took rigorous activity by confiscating products and providing a notification under Section 46 (1 )( a) of the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974 (Act 133).

“The offense remains in relationship to the building and construction or upkeep of a wall surface, fencing, column or any type of framework that blocks public locations.

“The offender could be slapped with a maximum fine of RM250 if found guilty.”

MBSJ said a total of 13 foreign nationals, comprising nine men and four women, were detained by the Immigration Department officers for further action.

“They will be investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/ 63 for not possessing valid travel documents, and under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959 /63 for staying beyond the permitted duration.

“The council will not compromise on any violations set under its licensing conditions.

“Ramadan market permit owners are advised to abide by the recognized policies to make sure smooth procedures at the markets along with to preserve site visitors’ health and security,” MBSJ included its declaration.
