Fees for electronic permit enforced upon revival, brand-new application of service permit

service permit owners in Ampang Jaya, Selangor, are billed a charge under the neighborhood authority’s electronic permit system.

Ampang Jaya Municipal Council’s (MPAJ) SMARTLicense system, presented in July in 2015, consists of an organization permit in electronic style and a gadget that is set up at business properties.

The cost is billed when proprietors restore their service permits or make an application for a brand-new service permit, stated MPAJ.

“For existing business premises, the charge for the installation of the SMARTLicense device was imposed during the renewal of the business premises licence starting from October 2024.

“For new business premises, the charge will be imposed when the application for the business premises licence is approved,” MPAJ stated in a media declaration.

“The installation and management charges for the device are imposed only once.

“However, there is a yearly registration cost of RM45 for the tool,” stated the neighborhood council.

The monitoring cost is RM50 and setup cost is RM10.

MPAJ specified that the tools were set up at service properties in its territory in between June and December in 2015.

“MPAJ conducted an engagement session on the implementation of the SMARTLicense System, involving licensed business premises owners within the MPAJ administrative area in June 2024.

“Through this session, premises owners were thoroughly informed about the implementation of the SMARTLicense System, including the installation of the MPAJ SMARTLicense Device,” it included.

StarMetro formerly reported that the change to electronic service permits was to enable much easier service procedures and rise enforcement performance.

It is indicated to deal with a number of problems, consisting of permit imitation, overlaps and loss of permits, while additionally determining unlicensed procedures.
