Woman’s shock traveler on Aussie roadway motivates $376 penalty: ‘Can’t do that’


A Queensland female has actually been fined after being captured riding her motorcycle with an uncommon traveler– her pet strapped to her upper body in a harness.

The 35-year-old was discovered travelling along at Alexandra Headland around 2pm on May 17, when policemans from the Sunshine Coast Highway Patrol– called the “paw patrol”– drew her over.

Bodycam vision reveals the minute the policeman came close to the cyclist and her fuzzy co-pilot.

“You know you can’t do that,” the policeman states in the video.

“You can’t ride with the dog on the bike. I must say, it’s the first time I’ve seen it with the whole harnessing thing before.” The female, apparently uninformed of the policy, reacted: “I bought this off Temu.”

But the policeman advised her it was risky. “I know your dog is probably trained, but if he starts moving around, anything could happen. Then that’s obviously going to cause you to crash.”

Despite her imaginative method to pet dog traveling, the female was penalized a $376 penalty for “riding with an animal between arms”.

Senior Sergeant Shane Panoho stated while our family pets belong to the household, they do not belong on the handlebars. “We know how attached some people are to their pets, but it’s best to apply a paws-off approach when it comes to our roads,” he stated in a cops declaration.

“The rider had purchased the harness online and did not think through the safety implications, particularly if the dog was to react to other road users, pedestrians or animals.
