One of the nationâs leading serpent catchers claims an increasing number of individuals transferring to Queensland is causing a surge in unsafe experiences with serpents.
Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers proprietor Stuart McKenzie has actually begged with individuals transferring to the state to not come close to serpents.
âWith the urban sprawl up here and so much development happening and so many people moving to South East Queensland, I think the snake confrontations are definitely increasing,â he informed ABC News Breakfast on Monday.
âA lot of [dealing with a snake] comes down to common sense, and just respecting that animal. Just because itâs in your yard doesnât mean itâs after you or you kids or your pets or anything like that.â
McKenzie advised Australians the most safe alternative is to call a serpent catcher to deal with the circumstance and he advised individuals battling economically to still make that phone call.
âWe donât have to come out every single time. We do charge fees and obviously at the moment times are a bit tough and money is tight for people, but at least give us a call and we can discuss the situation with you and come up with a plan,â he claimed.
âThe main thing is do not touch them or try to relocate themselves yourselves.â
