Bek and Doug recognized something required to alter after knowing they “barely saw” their very own youngsters. “We both worked full-time jobs with the kids in before-school care, school and after-school care five days per week,” she claimed.

So they made the big phone call to damage custom, choosing a much more complimentary way of life discovering the nation.

“We have been programmed for centuries that you buy a house and work your butt off for 40 years to pay off that house and raise a family, then once your kids are all grown up, you can go travel and explore what our country has to offer,” she claimed.

Vet bills on the road have also cost them dearly, with a snake bite and ear infection setting them back more than $1,500.

However free camps usually don’t come with your basic living amenities like water and dump sites,” Bec explained.

“There also wasn’t a lot of free camping we found unless you wanted to stop in gravel pits with minimal shade in the Kimberley.”
