Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has actually apologised for making “wrong” and “insensitive” remarks in parliament by asking if a resistance MP had Tourette’s disorder.
During Question Time on Tuesday, Albanese made the statement when encountering interjections from resistance frontbencher Angus Taylor.
“Have you got Tourette’s or something? You know, you just sit there, babble, babble, babble,” he claimed.
While he swiftly took out the remark, he dealt with prompt objection from various other MPs and supporters for making use of the problem as a disrespect.
Later on Tuesday, the head of state apologised for the statements in the House of Representatives.
“I made comments that were unkind and hurtful. I knew it was wrong as soon as I made the comment,” Mr Albanese claimed.
“I apologised and withdrew as soon as I said it, but it shouldn’t have happened. I also want to apologise to all the Australians who suffer from this disability.
” I are sorry for claiming it. It was incorrect, it was aloof and I apologise.”
