Australian Border Force hit by SmartGate kiosk outage – Software


Australia’s immigration SmartGates went down for a number of hours in the present day after an outage hit the Australian Border Force’s (ABF) kiosk programs.

Extra ABF officers have been introduced in for guide processing and to minimise traveller disruption.

According to the ABC, there have been prolonged queues at Sydney and Melbourne worldwide airports.

It’s understood Melbourne Airport recorded roughly round 1000 passengers affected by the outage alongside three departure flights out of the town additionally have been delayed.

As of noon AEDT, the programs have been all again on-line, the ABF advised iTnews

“The Australian Border Force has been working to restore a technical outage impacting both inbound and outbound passengers at international airports nationwide this morning,” a spokesperson mentioned. 

“As of noon AEDT, the problem has been resolved in any respect airports and all programs are again on-line.

“The explanation for the technical situation stays beneath investigation. We want to thank travellers for his or her persistence throughout this incident.”
