Second Westpac blackout as electronic banking clients struck once more: ‘We’re sorry’

Westpac has actually been struck by its 2nd blackout in 2 days, leaving hundreds of clients not able to access their electronic banking once more. The blackout is affecting Westpac, together with its subsidiary financial institutions St George, Bank of Melbourne and Bank SA.

Westpac clients initially began reporting problems on Tuesday at 1pm, with Down Detector revealing a spike of greater than 3,400 blackout records. This coincides time a failure was reported by clients the other day.

Westpac informed clients it understood the 2nd blackout and was functioning to repair it.

“We’re aware that customers are experiencing issues accessing online and mobile banking. Our teams are working to fix the issue,” Westpac stated.

“We’re sorry for the inconvenience and will continue to share updates here.”

Yesterday’s blackout was dealt with after 2 hours, with clients notified financial was on-line at 3:15 pm.
