SYDNEY (Reuters) – Australian retail gross sales went flat in July after a few months of upbeat outcomes boosted by discounting occasions, with spending on garments and at shops taking a success as customers turned frugal.
Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) on Wednesday confirmed retail gross sales have been unchanged in July from June, once they rose 0.5%. Analysts had seemed for an increase of 0.3%.
Sales have been up 2.3% on a 12 months earlier, a weak consequence given Australia’s inhabitants is surging by 2.6% yearly.
